I am also a fine hair specialist.
People with fine hair have unique styling and color challenges.  My approach is to treat fine hair with a strong focal point adding dimension and texture. Each client is unique and so are my techniques. The final result will satisfy you and leave your hair beautiful.

Many stylists are unaware of the special needs that women with fine or thin hair have. As a result, these well-intentioned stylists may inadvertently treat their thin-haired clients as they would women with normal or thick hair, leading to plenty of unnecessary pain and discomfort – and an unsuccessfully executed haircut or style to boot.

Boosting volume in fine or thinning hair starts with the right cut. A precision cut. The goal is to keep your hair from looking too sparse or stringy at the ends. Talk to me about a flattering cut for your face shape that can help camouflage any trouble spots.

Color can also play a role in boosting volume. Highlights, and color that uses a lightener, will actually “rough up” the hair cuticle which creates a little volume. Sometimes just a few key highlights around the face and a couple peeking through the sides and suddenly your hair looks instantly thicker. These are just a few of many options that you and I will discuss. Use white hair to your advantage. It makes a great backdrop for pastel colors without the tedious effort of bleaching and toning. Create fullness with short feathered layers and wispy fringe for a funky and fun style.

When you are retired, you want a hairstyle that requires minimal effort and won’t need frequent trips to the salon. Short layers will retain the shape of the cut as it grows out. Plus, it doesn’t require much prep work in the morning—just brush and go.

Stacked hairstyles are beneficial for women over 50 for a couple of reasons. First, by placing multiple short layers on top of each other you can achieve a voluminous bump. Second, they provide a modern and youthful edge to basic bob cuts.

Adding a light golden color throughout the front of your haircut will bring warmth to your complexion. This will bring a youthful glow and brighten your eyes.

Pixie cuts are surprisingly versatile depending on the amount of length you leave in the crown. Longer bangs in short hairstyles for women over 50 not only provide softness to such a severe style, they also allow you the option of pinning them back, swooping them down or spiking them up for a variety of styles.

Short hair cuts that typically have been styles of busy moms on-the-go are now desirable with many different age brackets. A nice mix of ash blonde and brown tones makes them modern.

Silver hair makes a striking statement in super short styles because it looks cool and chic at the same time. To create depth, mix in a dark charcoal hue at the roots.
Messy spiky texture not only looks cool, but it also instantly adds major volume to thin straight strands. Gels can leave short hair looking crunchy and brittle, so opt for a styling product like Sebastian Matte Putty for a soft moldable style.
Get your groove back and get noticed with a bold beautiful hair color. You are sure to be the center of attention in whatever room you walk into.

Hot curlers are the perfect tool to give cropped hair styles a bit of fullness in a short amount of time. If you have a little more time, use sleep in rollers overnight to achieve the same effect in the morning.
Reminiscent of the 1920′s bob with fringe, this style has got that timeless feel that older ladies look for in hairstyles, but it’s also fresher and livelier than ‘q-tip do’s we cringe at.
Here is a preferred short look for women of all ages. In case you also wish to feel ultra-feminine, try a chin-length cut that works great for hair of any texture. Here we see soft, long layers and some bangs that highlight the face.
